Access to Markets
Access to Markets consists of a series of activities that aim to help an artisan or a particular group of artisans with similar characteristics to access points of sales in both national and/or international markets, especially in Canada and the US, and occasionally in other parts of the world too.
These activities serve as an incubator and include a diagnosis of various products’ potential and commercial capacity, a meticulous analysis of the products in terms of quality and durability, and the adaptation of products to attract particular markets in terms of their prices, style and design.
The program is part consulting and part coaching the artisan to develop an action plan and contacts as well as to negotiate participation in trade fairs. FEM International organizes and supports commercial missions, professional events with selected potential retailers, assists the entrepreneur in establishing links with third party distribution spaces and ultimately helps with the process of imports and first orders’ processing.
